News/Timelines/Due Dates

  • If you would like to be added to the AMMS Teachers Tutoring list that is posted on the school website and provided to parents, please email the following information to Fran Meredith by Friday, 8/24.

1.       Email address and/or phone number

2.       Subject(s) you would like to tutor

·         Fulton County stipulates that teachers are not allowed to tutor students within the grade level(s) they teach.  Tutoring must happen off school grounds and outside of school hours.  If you tutor an AMMS student and want to communicate with his/her teachers, please obtain an Authorization to Release Information form from the counseling office.  This form must be completed by the parent and returned to the grade level counselor before you can discuss the student.

·         Please remember if you have any concerns with the copiers to ask for help.  We are expecting new copiers next week.

·         Please make sure that copies of pictures from all grades are sent to Kim Brill’s folder?  There is a folder for each grade level by 8th grade graduation year.  Thanks!  The folder is \\atryml-curr\Teacher Pictures\Brill

·         The times for help sessions for this year have been streamlined.  Morning sessions will be from 7:55-8:25 and afternoon from 4:05 to 4:35.

·         Check out this great deal from Target:  https://employees.fultonschools.org/Pages/Targetgiftcards.aspx

·         AMMS’ Caught Being Good program has been aligned with the counseling department.  The program will now work as follows:

1.       Caught Being Good slips will be in your boxes in the coming days.  A section has been added for you to explain the student’s good actions.

2.       CGB slips will be collected in grade level jars in the front office.

3.       1x per month, the counselors will publish all CBG names in the Lion’s Roar (just names, not explanation of actions) under a general heading of “You were Caught Being Good!”

4.       Each counselor will compile the monthly list of names for her own grade level.

5.       Fran Meredith will compile grade level lists to create the article for publication.

6.       Each counselor will get slips to her own grade level students through homerooms.

7.       CBG will no longer count towards team points.

8.       The master copy of the CBG slip will be located in the CBG folder on the atryml-curr server in case you need extras.

9.       Questions?  Please see your grade level counselor.

A mighty roar!

To the PE and Connections Department for the pep rallies held this past Thursday and for the teachers who came in and cheered on their teams.  It made a huge difference in the enthusiasm of the students when their teachers joined in the activities.  This is the relationship part of the equation at its best!  Also to Tim Anderson for organizing the sixth grade rotations that allowed them to meet with all the different areas of the school and learn more about AMMS.

Where is Livingston?

He will return soon!

Happy Birthday
