October 14

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

News/Timelines/Due Dates

Hope you had a nice three day break.  You certainly deserve it! I had a great time in the mountains despite a certain football game on Saturday.  I will be sharing the strategic plan at Wednesday’s grade level meetings.  Please go ahead and look at the plan before coming to the meeting.  Please keep in mind this is a three year plan.

PRIDE -This Friday, October 18th silent reading returns to PRIDE!  We will stay in homerooms this week for PRIDE due to the sixth grade field trip to Medieval Times.  Make sure you and your students have a book and everyone is reading.  If students come without a book it should be marked unprepared in the agenda.

Looking ahead….Next week(10/25) we will not have PRIDE due to ITBS testing.  We will be on a regular Monday-Thursday schedule that day.

Where is Livingston?

Rob Tyo says ““OMG! She’s AWESOME!”  was the response I had from a fellow teacher when I told her I was nominating her co-worker for the Livingston award this week. I completely agree.

This current 7th grade teacher was a leader in 6th grade and is also one now in 7th grade.  Her “promotion” to 7th grade shows just how valuable she is to our school and administration. We miss her greatly on our hall, but know she is doing great things where she is now! She always puts her students first by creating innovative and exciting activities. One of the MANY activities her students enjoyed was their Daily Classroom Reading. She would challenge her classes to become more independent readers at home and school by reading books slightly above their reading level.

She is highly organized, always willing to give a helping hand, detail oriented (read OCD J), and always coming up with new and fun ways for students to collaborate. She is also one of the smartest trivia people I know! You don’t want to go against her in Trivial Pursuit!

Sarah Bayer congratulations on winning Livingston!”

Happy Birthday
